This clip is from a reel of film literally found in a dumpster or skip. It was wound around itself, not mounted on a core or reel. Prior to scanning, it was not cleaned or prepped anymore than to mount it on a core and splice some leader to the head and tail. The film was scanned at 2K to 10bit DPX RAW files on Watch Works' Goldeneye Archival scanner made by Image Systems. No additional processing has been applied to this clip other than to transcode the 2K files to this h.264 file for display. Please note that despite its having been badly stored film, with some shrinkage, torn sprocket holes and brittle splices, the scan is remarkably steady. The Goldeneye scanner provides sharp, accurate, rock steady images and that is the start of any successful restoration.
