perfect conditions -- dry, sunny, and 75 degrees! the exact opposite of sat's race! i had qualified fairly poorly (was caught up in some traffic, and there was a bad wreck in front of me that caused me to really check up during my one good flying lap). as a result, i was pretty far back on the grid, behind all the GTS-2 cars and Scott and Harper. i got a great start, and the race was on! battled with Harper for a little bit, got around him and started chasing Scott... this was a 40 minute race, and it took me a long time to get around him, with scott passing me back once and me repassing immediately. Scott repeatedly was able to get up beside me or even slightly past me at the end of the straights; i typically would outbrake him and hold my position. we were even in most turns; he was stronger in the straights. i was braver on the brakes, and faster up the esses into South Bend. a very very hotly contested race, with lots of traffic to manage! i was the eventual winner, with Scott right behind me; he turned a faster lap than i did, by 0.05 secs, i think (and the track was not 'fast'; most of the other classes were running 1.5-2 secs slower than the last race weekend). Scott would have set a track record, if it had been a fast track!
