New editing software promised to be able to import files from ANY device. This brought to mind a JVC Everio gathering dust because of its uninstinctive software requiring file conversion before editing. The new software (Serif X6) came through and its like getting a new camcorder.
After the east coast haar of Saturday the sun was trying to muscle through on Sunday and made Aberlady Bay the perfect place to capture the locals mooching about and the reflections of the sun on the sea. I took a small tripod which was essential to catch shots possibly half a mile away or more. At full magnification (x35) the camera struggles and produces red/green distortion which is also visible in high contrast close ups. And on a small tripod on loose sand the zoom buttons are impossible to operate without shake. However the sunshine and "new" camera made the trip lots of fun.
I spent a while trying to find a piece of music similar in feel to the footage; elegant but also a bit edgy. Eventually settling on "Sometimes I feel like a Motherless Child" by L. Pierre.
I believe Sunday was the warmest day Scotland has experienced in March.
