This clip for Michael Jackson was all shot in 'reverse' then played back forward. I have put the clip back to back, to show you how it was shot and cut up, then how it was revealed as animation with lip sync in the other direction.

You can see the strata GROWING on in this due to being shot in reverse, rather than shrinking away, which is typical when you shoot a block being cut up, and going straight ahead in this ...

It also combines regular stop motion clay animation puppetry with strata cut in the same moment, at the same time. This is always a desired effect I love to explore more. It just requires setting up and executing two difficult things, not just one ... and so I tend to shy away, unless I have the time or resources to go to this level of 'mixed media' -- I do love it when I can combine the two, and I plan to do this more often in the future if possible.
