A program service of the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation, B.A.S.I.C.S. is designed to promote safety and awareness through world-class fundamentals coaching.
“The action sports world involves a freedom from rules and regulations which we love because it keeps creativity and progression limitless. But, that freedom allows for oversight of teaching and mastering B.A.S.I.C.S., a risky combination. High Fives is dedicated to catching athletes before they crash and providing a platform for further, safer progression.” - JT Holmes, Director of B.A.S.I.C.S. Program
Camp Two: the B.A.S.I.C.S. Program Service has seen a tremendous amount of exposure, growth and popularity since its inception in the summer of 2011. Camp One was held in Park City, Utah at the Utah Olympic Park in the fall of 2011 and featured a focus on air awareness through trampoline and water ramp training on skis. Four select skiers and seven world class professional skiers served as coaches.
This winter, the progression continued with four skiers (Reef Schott, Rocket Bryan, Logan and Cody LaPlante) who were selected as campers to ski with a rotating base of accomplished coaches at Squaw Valley (March 19-21).
Huge thanks to JT Holmes (Program Director) as well as guest coaches Franz Weber, Connery Lundin, Timy Dutton, Garrett Russell, Sean Carey and John Rockwood for their time. Also, thank you to Chris Gray and the Squaw Valley Ski Patrol as well as Squaw Valley for making this possible.
