Our entry for the 2012 Animation challenge, "Get Involved with the Iikos". After the humans helped the Iikos get their planet in shape, they continued creating new technology - but only new ways to become lazy. The Iikos become concerned for their former teachers so they create the Personal Learning Pod (PLP) to train a new generation in how to correctly use their knowledge.
Each pod is connected through a network to other students, teachers, and experts from around the world. Inside the pod, students have a personal research space, a teacher, and connections to fellow classmates for conferring with. All of this will breed the "Brilliant Generation" and put Earth back on track toward reaching new heights.
This animation was nominated in the top 21 for the Autodesk award. It would have been top ten had they gone that far but they were not able to eliminate the entries down to a top 20, then 10, then 5 and finally a winner. They just picked one of the 21.
