This video excerpt depicts a group experiencing, through a choreographic act of wandering, the landscape of a reclaimed landfill mound at Fresh Kills. Walking across the grassy surface of this mound by the public was unprecedented and occurred only after two years of discussions with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, in conjunction with the Department of Sanitation. Wandering is envisioned as a means of space-making and somatic discovery that translates a site of trauma to a commons.
