Rev. Moore preaches from the Gospel according to Mark, chapter 11 verses 1 thru 11. He begins his sermon this Palm Sunday by describing the march of Jesus into Jerusalem as an act of subversion. Jesus' ride into the city is intended to mock the march of the Roman governor into the city on the Jewish high holy day. Rev. Moore then describes "King Jesus" as an agent for change--but not from the top down as a new Jewish king. Rather, Jesus demonstrates time and time again that the change needed to bring about the kingdom of God begins inside our hearts and then extends to the world. Recorded Apr. 1, 2012 from the pulpit of Mayflower Congregational UCC Church in Oklahoma City.
