What does it look like to put our praise (as believers) into practice? According to 1 Peter 1:13-21 it concerns a new way of thinking and a new way of living. As we saw last week in 1 Peter 1:3-12, the believer in Christ has so much to be thankful for as it relates to God's wonderful work of salvation on behalf of His people. We must understand praise as the believer's primary objective. God made mankind to praise Him, and He has remade His people to praise Him. God's people have been born again to do this! What we learn in our passage is that praise concerns more than just our Sunday morning gathering, but applies to a new way of life in Christ. We have been saved to praise God and this is to be seen in bringing our thoughts in line with Christ and His promises and aligning our actions with Him. May God's people at MCC be marked by holy thoughts and holy works for the glory of God! Praise God for the Holy Spirit who gives us new minds and new power for holy living so that we can practice our praise!
