This is a riders' eye view of the 2019 WNBR London ride, starting from Tower Hill. The weather had been bad, but the sun managed to squeeze through. Numbers were down and we all shivered a bit. This Director's Cut has improved audio and a soundtrack.
The protest followed seven routes, covering somewhere around 65Km of London streets in a carnival-style procession as the WNBR protest campaign used its fun, legal, and eye-opening spectacle to draw attention to its worthy objectives.
WNBR is a world-wide campaign, with a number of linked themes. Its objectives are to:
- Protest against the global dependency on oil
- Curb car culture
- Obtain real rights for cyclists
- Demonstrate the vulnerability of cyclists on city streets
- Celebrate body freedom
