Individual donors are the largest sources of philanthropy in the United States. Cultivating individual donors is a skill that you can hone to become a powerful source of support for your project. Joey Lico, Individual Giving and Special Events Officer at NYFA, will present strategies for approaching and soliciting individual donors with confidence and finesse.
Joey Lico had previously worked at Parsons Dance Foundation after being on staff at The Juilliard School for two years. Prior to her position there, she was an assistant editor at Phaidon Press, Inc. and later worked in marketing and development with the Feliciano Dance Company. Joey is the publisher of Pro Diligo, an online culture magazine, and is a freelance writer for several publications including, ArtForum, The Brooklyn Rail and Vanity Fair. Having graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University with a BA in philosophy, she is currently pursuing an MA at NYU's Gallatin School studying the culture and economy of the visual arts. She is part of American Ballet Theatre’s Junior Council, Emerging Leaders in New York Arts, the Cancer Research Institutes Young Philanthropists Council, and the Whitney Contemporaries.
