Beta-2 is a bit less ambitious, goes for 12.7 stops of DR, vs 13.2 with beta-1. And it looks a lot better.
The camera is still crushing a lot of the information before the picture control is applied (see the video vs RAW still comparison at the end), but at least now, with some noise reduction, the footage is acceptable.
And it looks a lot better than pushing up in post a standard image.
In any case, Flaat_13p is a specialty picture control, for those cases where you need as much dynamic range as you can get. For day-to-day use, Flaat_10p or Flaat_11p would be my preferred options. You can find them all here:
