The Three Degrees were formed around 1963 in Philadelphia. They were discovered by producer and songwriter Richard Barrett. He signed them to Swan Records and they recorded several singles for the label. In 1966 Helen Scott left the group, Sheila Ferguson, a high school friend of Helen, took her place (and stayed in the group for 20 years). So the line up by then was: Fayette Pinkney (R.I.P.), Janet Harmon and Sheila Ferguson.

One of the songs the group recorded during their stay with Swan was 'Love of my life'. If I am not mistaken that's one of the first recording with Sheila being a member of the group.

Here's my extended version of that nice 'do wop' song. No copyright infringement intended. Enjoy!
