As you know, most protection against COVID-19 is offered through N95 masks. As an industrial designer, I divided the mask project into several problems which I am trying to solve with materials most people have at home. For this DIY mask, you can use any cotton fabric you already have.
I even used linen table cloths, pillow cases, cotton kitchen drapes from IKEA, woven shirts, and whatever woven print fabric I already have. For the non-woven inside layer I used dried wipes. I used a plastic drinking straw that I stitched to the front of the mask to create a volume in the center portion.
I create a nose piece from aluminum foil which is also sewn in.
