A walk along the river Dausjøelva in Maridalen Oslo April 7 2012 in direction the lake Dausjøen. (Literally Dau=death, sjø=sea, lake). The river is almost running in a canyon like terrain. The sun was descending and only small rays of sunshine succeeded in reaching the river, giving a great lighting to the river grass. In spite of this sinister name this is a very interesting area with steep cliff sides where ravens are living. On my return I met a local walking with her elk dog and she on my question of the name had a theory may be someone had gone through the ice on the lake. The ice can be tricky and dangerous to traverse sometimes. Else she said many elks were living here. When I reached the lake I discovered two swans on the opposite side finding food in the ice free water.
