Listen in as Soong-Chan Rah, associate professor of church growth and evangelism at North Park Theological Seminary, speaks about the book of Lamentations and the American church. Lamentations is a book about suffering, something the church does not often want to hear about. Rah references theologian Walter Brueggemann's insight on theology of celebration and theology of suffering. Those who are privileged are apt to embrace a theology of celebration, but Rah insists that both sides have truth that we need to bring together. The question is, how can we lament with those who are indeed suffering today?
