The European Space Agency's "Lunar Robotic Challenge" was held in Tenerief in October 2008. The University of Oulu partook the competition with the Mörri -robot. The robot was also used in M-Elrob 2008.
The team was placed 2nd in the Lunar Challenge. The competition was performed during the night time and the mission was to slope down into a 15m deep crater and fetch a soil sample. The task was completed when the soil sample was emptied onto a scale unit near the starting point.
