This is just one part in a series of videos I shot while on a trip around Guizhou Province. Xiaohuang is a Dong ethnic minority village, hidden away in a remote valley and hard to reach. Its remoteness has preserved the culture of the Dong people, who are famous for their superb skills in carpentry, weaving, metal working, and other hand crafts. In this village, everything is done by hand. Cotton that is grown on the mountainsides is spun, woven, dyed, sewed, and embroidered into distinctive traditional clothing. In a day's walk around the village, you can see almost all staqes of the process, as most of the work is done outdoors.
