This is a concept video that was the result of a 5 week long class in Service Design in CIID. (ciid.dk)
The course involved meeting patients with COPD, learning about their illness, their needs, and designing a service that builds on technology currently being developer to care for COPD patients on a day-to-day basis, and not just in emergency situations.
COPD, chronic lung disease, leaves patients with difficulty breathing, and they get extremely tired with very little work. Often, health services deal with them well in emergencies, but not on an ongoing basis. We designed this service to care for people on a day-to-day basis, keeping them motivated, and creating a safety net around them so they know someone is looking out for them.
Also, for the health service this is important too, because if you can take better care of people at home, then they will have less chance of needed emergency hospital visits, which cost the health service a huge amount.
