In a town named Parán, just a few hours from Lima, at least 10 percent of the population is blind or will become blind due to a recessive gene. Agapito Mateo, an evangelic pastor and farmer, has made peace with his blindness but knows that others may not be as positive. He says the government should provide more assistance to his community. This video was shot as one of 15 stories about social inclusion for El Comercio’s exhibit in Lima’s Photography Biennial.
