Description: Renowned sleep specialist Dr. Kingman Strohl requested the creation of this piece as a way to bring awareness to the importance of qualitative sleep. The work explores individual bedtime rituals, sleep posturing preferences, various sleep disorders, experiences and dream images. Additionally, this commission afforded Inlet Founder and Executive/Artistic Director the opportunity to honor one of his artistic mentors, Alice Rubinstein (Founding Artistic Director of the former Footpath Dance Company). Movement in Dream of Sleeping sites a section of her choreography from her work, A Rude Awakening (late 1980's).
