I am interested in the double nature of a picture: as a repository of memory and as a physical object.
The picture of someone we love is both a memory of the moment shown in the photograph and a simulacrum of that person.
We carefully keep photographs of our beloved ones, in particular if he/she is dead or far away, since part of our tie to that person/moment is related to the integrity of the object.
I made this time-lapse video by shooting the left and right page separately, leaving on purpose a mismatch during the flipping of the pages. Time and memory, experience and remembrance do not always overlap...
