Richard Fish is a young photographer based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.
''My current practice largely involves social documentary involving urban photography, street photography and changes within the social landscape. Often I attempt to depict changes within the social landscape such as observing peoples body language and how it changes within the busy city environment. I enjoy observing the banal and the everyday alongside focusing on the absurd and extra ordinary.
I am attracted to the entirely unscripted nature of street photography and the way that stories and pictures can evolve straight in front of you.
I am an artist who succeeds with photography as a medium because of my love for putting a frame around reality and also my passion of the formal qualities of the photograph.
Although I'm uncomfortable with term 'street photographer', I believe I use the streets as my studio and as my canvas. My camera is merely there to wait for the elements to fall into place and then to capture them as the picture becomes apparent.''
