if you're going to make pretentious art you should be able to back it up with some pretentious talk. ;) It deserves an elaborate description involving the words "post-modern" and "dystopian" and also something about the dangers of technology threatening our enjoyment of the natural world.

I couldn't help myself. How's this?
"Set in a far dystopian future this film is a post modern deconstruction of the myth of Tantalus. Scruffy is a lonely mutant product of the final age of man, who in their hubris made terrible machines which tore apart the very fabric of space-time leaving a universe in which the laws of nature no longer function. The only other things they left behind are tiny spider like machines which do their best the re-weave the correct order of the cosmos. Misunderstanding his own distorted nature and unable to resist the desire to fit in with the strange beauty around him Scruffy picks the last living flower on earth which held the multiverse in a precarious balance. Because of this he is severed from his own timeline and forced to live out the rest of his tortured existence in the crumbling remains of a 21st century city."
