Chinese young women are having a negative self-evaluation when exposed to mainstream beauty standards shown by the media. A large number of them are overdoing make-up and plastic surgeries, however, they are not becoming more attractive but look like clones of each other. My project is a dream-fulfilling facemask for contemporary Chinese women. It is branded and commercialized to ironically communicate how media has manipulated women’s desire to have the same extreme facial features. My goal is to raise the awareness of this beauty issue, and to make women rethink about what they are doing to themselves.
