Even in a time of physical distancing, we are called to be connected to each other. Human interactions can be tricky and complicated to navigate. Based on an understanding of how human beings are hard-wired to experience emotions, this overview will explain the Psychology of Affects (our outward expression of feelings and emotions) in layman’s terms and help participants see interpersonal dynamics in a new light.
Bob Costello, an FPCB member and resident of Bethlehem, is the Assistant Commissioner for Organizational Development at the NYC Department of Probation. He has worked for more than 20 years in the fields of mental health, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, inpatient and outpatient services and alternative education.
