Here's a quick close up test of the butterfly thus far. I was talking to the CG supervisor at work yesterday about how my personal working process differs from the process I adopt at work. When you don't have strict deadlines to work to you can happily veer off the usual work-flow and begin playing around with some post-ideas on early block footage. It can in turn inform the earlier parts of the process, giving an idea of what final outcomes are possible and what you will need to do to the current state of the scene to be able to manipulate it more easily when it comes to working on post-effects.
I've started thinking about tying the soundtrack into some sort of post manipulation of the colour streams from the butterfly. I'll be working on some concepts of this before I lock down the final treatment of the streams and it will hopefully throw up some interesting ideas for the visual aesthetic and maybe also the sound design.
