A short film of Brazilian Chef Rafael Jacobi, who runs and owns a Thai restaurant in South Brazil and does catering for a big function venue as well.
Shot in Porto Alegre/RS at Wok Restaurante and in Gramado/RS at Casa Branca Eventos during October 2011.
I used a 7D and 5D MkII and a 50mm 1.4 and a 16-35mm 2.8 II. Edited in Premiere Pro and coloured in After Effects, both CS5.
Nothing fancy with the lighting. A 1000w Fresnel bouncing on the ceiling for fill and warmer light combined with the kitchen's 5600K fluorescent lights.
For the food plating on the last half, I used the same Fresnel as back/side light shot directly through a diffuser and a homemade Kino Flo using 2x fluorescent light bulbs, warmer than 5600K, mounted on a C stand.
