A hardboiled story of lost love and rare action figures.
"The Widow's Toys" is a film noir story about Hal Singer, an obsessive toy collector and reluctant romantic, and his pursuit to find the elusive "Codpiece Craterface" action figure. Hal's hunt for plastic gold forces him to come face to face with his nemesis and former lover in a twisted, toy-hoarding triangle. "The Widow's Toys" is where "The Maltese Falcon" collides with Comic-Con.
This film was made on a budget of $30 in the winter of 2011. Shot on location at the Kent State University Library as the Film Noir portion of the vignette movie series "Half Awake: Four Stories of Library Blues."
