In the fight against the advance of COVID-19, Germany is one of the countries with the lowest mortality rates in the world caused by this virus. What is their strategy?
In the third webinar of the series organized by the IDB's Social Protection and Health Division, through its CRITERIA NETWORK, we invite you to learn more about the valuable lessons of Germany in its management of COVID-19. The seminar will be dictated by Professor Karl Lauterbach, Member of the German Parliament (SPD) and Professor of Health Economics and Epidemiology at the University of Cologne.
Prof. Lauterbach will address relevant issues such as the trajectory of the epidemic in Germany, the main measures being taken to control the epidemic, and how the decision-making process takes place in practice, in order to achieve the low mortality rate that has been observed in the country. He will also share the challenges posed by the epidemic from the political economy point of view and his advice to low- and middle-income countries.
