Produced & Directed by Steven A. Leibo of the Sage Colleges
A historical documentary dealing with how the Vietnam War era impacted on the lives of residents in the New York Capital Region. Using a combination of contemporary and historical footage from both Vietnam and upstate New York, the film follows the lives of both those who served in Vietnam and the local anti-war movement.
Perhaps most significant for aspiring filmmakers, "From Albany to Saigon" was made for better or worse by a professional historian with no professional film training and with almost no budget. Ironically most of the professional footage was obtained from t.v. stations that traded Vietnam War footage for commentary by the producer on more contemporary wars in the Persian Gulf.
