This is what we came here for!!!
Quick film of a superb day out on Dartmoor with Andy and Jeremy, we paddled the Upper Dart at 1.5 on the Dunnabridge gauge, that's one step covered at Newbridge on the 29th of April 2012.
It was my first time down the Upper at anything like this level and it didn't disappoint. We paddled everything and all the major features are in the video. Jeremy swam and lost his boat at the bottom of Euthenasia, Andy and I carried on to the end.
It was fantastic.
Jeremy's description of his swim:
That was a stressful swim I can tell you but alls well that ends well. I got pushed off line at the bottom of Euthanasia just when I thought all was going well and ended up flipping in the stopper which forms behind the big rock further down. Instead of just rolling up I totally shat myself and was thinking "f***k I'm upside down here I'm going to go into a load of trees and bloody die". Totally crazy, and then of course I ran out of air and it all went amateur night at the Apollo. Would have had a shorter swim if I'd just ditched my kit sooner but letting go of over a grand of stuff wasn't easy. How stupid is that? Got out just in time above the tree strainer river right at Surprise Surprise island. I was lucky.
