Critical changes are coming for food processors with Edition 7 to the SQF certification standards. The revised standards replace Edition 6 on July 1, 2012. This change affects processors in several ways.
Many of the previous requirements for Level 3 certification under Edition 6 are now required for Level 2 certification under Edition 7.
The SQF Standards for SQF 1000 for Agricultural Operations and SQF 2000 for Processors are now combined in one standard with different modules applicable to different types of operations. It is imperative to understand which modules will apply to your business.
Non-compliance with Edition 7 could result in failed audits or additional non-conformances that increase your audit frequency.
