Bucknell on the Susquehanna students spend a day down the Long Reach of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River to the Great Bend at Muncy, PA as part of a on guided sojourn to learn about the geologic evolution of the Susquehanna River and its natural-history and ecology.
These rapids - formed at the head of an island where the river is split in two - are only class 1, but they provide a refreshing change to the calmer, flatter reaches of the West Branch in between. Taken on August 27, 2010 around 10:30 am.
