ALBA (Dawn) Latin American Bolivarian Alliance: An Experiment in Progressive Integration
ALBA, the Latin American Bolivarian Alliance, is a young, experimental integration process that links Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua and several small Caribbean countries. My presentation will analyse its aspirations, achievements and failures, and compare the goals of the European integration process with those of this progressive Latin American trade/barter organisation.
Elizabeth Dore is Professor Emerita of Latin American Studies, University of Southampton; Visiting Research Fellow, Institute for the Study of the Americas, School of Advanced Studies, University of London.

ALBA, latinoameriško bolivarjansko zavezništvo, je mlad, eksperimentalni integracijski proces, ki povezuje Venezuelo, Kubo, Bolivijo, Ekvador, Nikaragvo in več manjših karibskih držav. Predavanje bo analiziralo težnje, dosežke in napake zavezništva ter primerjalo cilje evropskega integracijskega procesa s cilji te progresivne latinoameriške trgovske/menjalne organizacije.
Elizabeth Dore je zaslužna profesorica latinoameriških študij na Univerzi v Southamptonu in gostujoča raziskovalka na Inštitutu za raziskovanje Amerik na Podiplomski šoli Univerze v Londonu.
