FamilyCord, a California Cryobank company, is helping parents prevent life-threatening diseases by collecting cord blood. How -- you ask? Well that was where they were having trouble - - FamilyCord wanted to explain this process to future parents in a way that they could easily understand and accessible online.
So LACED suggested a digital "How To" video using fun visuals. Collaborating with Cryobank to create a simple script, we brought FamilyCord staff in-house to record the voiceover in our studio. While the script was under-way, LACED began storyboarding several ideas for FamilyCord to review. Once approved, LACED used an animated sketch style for the visuals (which included pencil, pen, and colored pencils). Adding a dose of humor, and then finishing everything off with AfterEffects to give the 2D sketches a 3D feel —LACED was able to bring the FamilyCord story to life in a fun, visual, and easy to understand digital video.
Since launching FamilyCord's new video, views on their Youtube channel have increased over 20%, and overall sales have increased. Client feedback about FamilyCord's newest video has been overwhelmingly positive. People love the animation; and they appreciate that the FamilyCord enrollment and stem cell collection process is presented in an easily understandable way.
