Our plan was to ski something else in Talefre Basin, but high winds along with lots of new snow changed our plans to ski the South Couloir of Aiguille Croulante. As it turned our we got pretty lucky at the end...being at the wrong place at the right time ;-) It was hard work all the way up with all that new snow. We were swimming up to waist in the snow and couldn't really keep the pace. So we decided to take a mixed route over the rocks on climbers left. That worked our well and we managed to get to the top around 11. Top section was a bit rocky but still skiable. First turns in the couloir we had to take really gentle and carefully. After first turns the snow felt really good and we could push the gas pedal and really enjoy the powder! This was one great trip! Reminds me our trip with same crew to Angelique in 2009. Same story; hard work going up in deep pow and pure pleasure skiing down. Thanks Juho and Pekka!!!
