You may remember me saying that I believed good things can come from bad events like losing my last plane. Well here is proof, I've just completed the new pan and tilt for my newly built plane and on this second day of test flying it captured some awesome video that shows the potential this thing has to make great HD videos. I love when I'm looking down past the wheel. To solve the problem with finding a servo to drive the turret though more than 180 degrees I used an RC sailboat winch servo that rotates it's drum 2 to 6 full rotations and wrapped a string around the drum and turret once each. It works like a charm. On top of that I decided to buy the JR 9303 I've wanted for a while to replace the DX7. The 9303 has two more channels and two more proportional controls at my index fingers location on the controller. Once I learn how to manipulate all these controls at the same time I should be able to get some amazing shots.
