This is the second of a two part video series about a UNESCAP rural development program initiated in 2006. Unlike part one, it begins with a brief introduction to Saemaul Undong's origins in South Korea.
UNESCAP applied the same principles to the Lao Peoples' Democratic Republic. The contrasts between the Cambodian and Lao implementation is interesting, given the context of their differing political systems. In this video the ideals of collectivism, ostensibly natural to a communist country seem to have caught on more strongly, even passionately, than in Cambodia.
