Use this feature to set a fixed amount of screen time which your child can use on a given day. When the time is up, their device will go into Lockdown mode, where they can’t access 3rd party apps.
To set a daily limit, launch Kidslox - choose the device you want to set a limit for - go to the Time tab - Daily limits. By default, Daily limits are 2 hours for weekdays and 3 hours for weekends. You can increase or decrease the time allowed by tapping the day you want to change and choosing Edit.
You can also disable Daily limits for a particular day by switching the toggle to off.
Unfortunately, due to the restrictions on the iOS platform, we’re not able to set time limits for individual apps or app categories the way that we can on Android devices.
When Daily Limits are enabled, the app is in Child mode and internet is enabled, Kidslox tracks device use whenever the screen is active. It does this regardless of what app is being used, including calls and texting.
To stop the timer, kids can simply turn off the screen.
Once daily limits are over, the device will be automatically switched into Lockdown mode and will remain blocked until you change the mode back to Child.
Please note, the mode doesn’t change automatically to Child mode the next morning unless you schedule that change.
Parents can see their child’s remaining time by checking the progress bar on the Home screen of the child’s device.
Children can check their remaining time by checking the progress bar on the Pin entry screen. This is possible only when Daily Limits are activated and the device is in Child mode. You could also install the Kidslox widget to display remaining screen time. Find more information about this in the support section of our website.
