This is a promo of my MA History, Film & TV Dissertation/Documentary project that I made at the University of Birmingham. It examines the reasons behind Churchill's decision to send an expeditionary force of 60.000 to Greece in the spring of 1941, to help its defence against the imminent German attack. This turned to disaster with the British having to evacuate the country one month later, faced by overwhelming German forces, in a Dunkirk-style exodus not many people know of nowadays. My research included archive footage from the actual battlefields and interviews with historians explaining the hows and whys of Churchill's plan, as well as with British and Greek veterans telling their stories from the campaign. I am now looking for a company interested in making a long version of my Diss/Doc, based on the findings of my research.
