On May 6, members of the Sheriff's Honor Guard stood watch at the Regional Law Enforcement Memorial along the Embarcadero to honor the 86 men and women that have died in the line of duty in San Diego County.
Every year, the San Diego Regional Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony pays respect to these fallen deputies, officers and agents. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 edition was cancelled. Instead, honor guards representing San Diego's law enforcement agencies took turns standing watch at the memorial wall.
We will never forget the ultimate sacrifice made by these brave members of law enforcement.
