"The Gnomon" meaning the raised part of a sundial that casts the shadow, responds to the notion of chaotic, mechanical time we experience in the city.

The project, sits in the urban context of Parliament Square, London.
The Gnomon, is a small pavillion which acts as a solar barometer, casting precise shadows onto the ground. It provides city dwellers with a place of withdrawal, a space to socialise and ultimately change our perception of time from the mechanical to the natural.
