Carsten Nicolai's brilliant new work unidisplay explores the notion of a universal language and is currently on exhibit at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal till June 17th. Here's a sneak peek of one of 24 modules that make up the whole. This audio-visual work is archetypal of Nicolai's artistic practice which combines explorations in cognition, self-organizing systems, sound as a physical phenomenon and loop structures most usually based on mathematical and cybernetic models.
More on this soon. The entire work is created in TouchDesigner by Derivative's Markus Heckmann who has for some time worked closely with Nicolai on multiple projection series including unitxt and univrs. (Shot with an iPhone)
