On January 10, 2010, Dan Woolley left for a trip to Haiti to gather stories about the needs of mothers and babies living in poverty, and Compassion International’s work among them. Two days into his trip, on January 12, a 7.0 earthquake hit Port-Au-Prince, killing hundreds of thousands and disrupting the lives of millions. Dan was caught in the earthquake and trapped under the rubble of the Hotel Montana for nearly three days. His filming team in Port-au-Prince returned to the Hotel Montana just minutes before the earthquake struck, and he and his videographer were standing in the lobby.
