I went filming right after buying a second hand anamorphic lense. It was a magic feeling to be able to shoot in this amazing ratio.
I noticed this field and asked Thibaud to run around and do whatever little boys do when they are in fields..
It was really hard to stay in focus... I had to focus both on the 70/200 f:4 & the anamorphic lens. I often had to come closer or further away really fast when the kido was doing something interesting. Yeah, kids do move !
Anyway, blurriness and shakiness are ok for me, nothing's perfect anyway.
I would have liked to come closer from his eyes, get some nice details on the flowers or his expressions, but the minimum focusing distance of the lens is 3 meters. Sometimes limitations give an overall nice feeling to a footage. It was a perfect day, a little bubble of time trapped into eternity, and so I decided it should remain this way.
When I got home, I was looking at some of the clips I just made, listening to the latest OSI album.
At some stage, when the song "Wind won't howl" started to play, I realized the two were blending together perfectly well.
Thibaud held the camera at some stage, so he should be credited as the second unit crew !
Peace & love.
