Fauntleroy Virtual Choir's third project is "3 Billion Birds." After reading a September 2019 article in the New York Times about the disappearance of 3 billion birds in North America in the past 50 years, composer Bronwyn Edwards wrote this song for a high school choral workshop in October 2019. Her friend, poet and playwright Pamela Hobart Carter, wrote the lyrics.
The Fauntleroy Virtual Choir was formed in March 2020 with the onset of the COVID-19 era of shelter in place. Based in Seattle, but with singers from as far away as Germany, the group is working on a number of musical projects to keep us singing together while remaining socially distanced due to the pandemic.
Bronwyn Edwards is a West Seattle composer, music director, pianist, and musical catalyst.
