Time lapse video of sun and lunar halos over South Tenerife from january to may 2012.
This year 2012, full moon on january, february and march produced several 22 º lunar halos. On may clouds produced a intense sun halo over Masca Valley
Halos are produced by ice cristals in high clouds .
This is a fantastic place to learn more about halos
Mars, at its nearest position to earth in 8 years can be seen just outside one of this halos, while sirius and the constellation of Orion, the Hunter can be seen in most of them, as they are the predominant winter constellations.
For this video I looked every day to the sky, day and night, and when i saw a halo shot hundreds of RAW pictures.
I used Nikon d700 and nikon d90, lenses: mainly the nikon 10,5 mm fish eye f/2,8 Iso 400 exp 4-8 seconds
shoot on RAW Manfrotto and Culmann tripod, procesed with LR timelapse http://lrtimelapse.com/ , and imovie
