This video is of the first gold race of 2008. There were 4 previous gold winning planes going balls out for the lead. Dago Red pulled out to an early lead but had to pull the power back briefly due to a vibration which ended up being the rudder trim tab. Mike Brown flying September Fury, running his (run all day long) power settings, passed Dago Red for the lead. The trim tab eventually broke off (the pilot did not know what happed till after the race) and once the vibration was gone and the engine was running fine, he pushed the power back up to take second place.
The great footage in this clip was provided by September Pops crewmembers Mike Luvara (cockpit/telemetry), Tom Mills (valley of speed) and myself (race trailer/editing).
