Here is a test using Worley Noise on a grid of small particles (About 400k) Was attempting a billowing effect by using the Exponent Power with an animated offset to evolve the movement and the noise in the cells. The offset is slowly ramped up in speed throughout. Rendered with BA_Volume shader and some extra BA_fractal_4d added for detail. about 1 minute per frame. there are some popping at the bottom - this is my fault as this was originally a sphere but just deleted the bottom half with some turbulance offset, the popping ones are freshly deleted, can try fade them out next time. Also think this technique can work with any arbitary geometry shape and uses the normals as offset direction rather than away from the centre. will try it next!
